the 3 rd chapter begins: “Dear friends, I have written the two letters as
reminders! This is what he wants us to stimulate our thinking, simplify
our understanding and strive to live a God honoring life.
Stimulate positive thinking. 2 Peter 3:1-7
Wholesome thinking to stimulate, wake up and arouse stay focused on
the words of the prophets and the Lord. Warning scoffers and mockers
are here. They attack the future visible return of Jesus. They
misunderstand human history. They hide from the lost the judgement
that awaits all who have rejected or neglected God’s grace and mercy.
Simplify our understanding of the last days. 2 Peter 3:8-11a
Slowness of God’s action is misunderstood withholding judgement is not
neglect but opportunity. Scoffers are wrong. God has intervened in
human history a flood destroyed. God’s plan of redemption: Messiah
came in the “fullness” of time born, lived and loved people and died to
pay the debt of sin. Rose from dead returned to the Father and will
return to complete of redeeming His Children and destroying evil. Sights

Strive to live worthy of God’s call. 2 Peter 3:11-18
Live holy (separated for God’s use) godliness (devoted to worship and
service). Live with an understanding of God’s management of the future.
Live spotless blameless justified by faith in Jesus. Live with your Guard
up. Observing and trusting God has all of this in His plan.
We are reminded to stimulate ourselves to follow Jesus. Simplify our
understanding of God’s work in these days. Commit to trusting Jesus.
Strive to live worthy of God’s call and His work in our life. Christian tells
HIS Story in OUR story. Jesus makes a difference. Lost friend do not
