I am a Church Member Part 6

As church members we serve because God has led and called us to be a
part of the “Body of Christ!” All of us are vital to the ministry of the
church. All are called and gifted for service to Christ, church and the
community where we live. All seek to maintain unity in the fellowship. All
strive to develop the attitude of a servant as Jesus did. All put aside our
preferences in order to serve Christ, church and community as the Lord
may direct.
As a church member, I will lead my family to be healthy church members.                                                                                                   Practicing prayer, worship and devoting time to Bible study. I will fall
deeply in love with my God as a result God sending Jesus to die for my
sins. Romans 5:8 “But God proves His own love for us in that while we
were all sinners, Christ died for us.”
As a church member, I will treasure my membership as a gift! Church
membership is not an obligation to be fulfilled. Church membership is an
opportunity to allow God to call, provide resources, develop attitudes,
and put aside my preferences in order to follow the leadership of the
Lord in my life and in the community in which I live.
Question? Are there “secret saints” who are in the universal church but
not attending a local church? Well, yes, all believers in Jesus everywhere
are a part of the universal church! The universal church and the local
church are not exclusive. The Book of Acts is a historical narrative of Holy
Spirit’s work in churches in Jerusalem, two different locations named
Antioch, Athens and many other cities. Many New Testament books
were written to specific churches. The last book Revelation has local
churches addresses. It is invalid and lame to say, “I will limit my
involvement to the universal church.” Communities and souls are
changed because people serve where they are as God leads them to
serve.
We all should be connected to a local church fellowship of believers.
