I am a Church Member Part 5
Role of prayer in Church membership

Church member are NOT members of a country club, but are members of
the “Body of Christ”. Every church member is important and vital in the
community served. Every church member is called to be a functional
believer. Gifted to serve the Lord, Church and Community. Every church
member works to maintain unity loving other members is a priority.
Every church member should develop the attitude Jesus demonstrated in
Philippians 2. Understanding Jesus gave Himself to be a servant. Every
church member understands ministry of the Church is not about my
preferences and or desires.
Church members must be prayer partners with pastors.
Pray for pastors because ministry is seven days a week at all hours. Pray
for pastor’s families because they are always in the spotlight. Pray for
pastor’s protection as Satan is always probing weaknesses. Pray for
pastor’s physical and mental health. Stress is real and harmful. Pray for
the pastor’s personal faith growth and sermon preparation time.
Church members must be prayer partners with all church leaders.
Church leaders are often volunteers and unpaid. Church leaders are
investing in the lives of others by teaching and serving. Church leaders
are targeted by Satan’s to discredit and destroy their ministry.
Church members praying every day for their pastors and church leaders
brings peace, strength and encouragement to our leaders. How long
should we pray, when are decisions each of us must make. Suggestion:
Whenever God bring to your mind your pastors and church leaders lift
them up to the Lord. We never know what challenges they may be

facing. The truth is God knows when they are weak, hurting or
challenged. Pray!
