I am a Church Member Part 3

Summary Parts 1 -2

As a Church Member we are people serving others. We are the “called
out ones”! Called out of the world to live lives as witnesses of God’s
presence and love. We’re gifted as functioning parts of the Church. Every
one necessary and different while serving with an unconditional love for
fellow believers and others. I Corinthians 12-14

I will be a be a unifying Church Member

Each Church member is known as disciples of Jesus because we love one
another. John 13:35 Jesus acknowledged a unique distinguishing trait of
Christian: We love each other! Ephesians 1:15-16 Christians are thankful
for each other’s faith and willingly pray for each other.
Each Church member lives worthy of God’s call into an eternal
relationship with our Creator because of Jesus’ finished work on the
cross. Ephesians 1:1-3 How do we secure unity? We become completely
humble, gentle, patient, bearing with one another in love. It takes an
effort and a gentle patient effort covered with a loving spirit.
Each Church member are people of forgiveness because we are forgiven
by God! Matthew 6:14-15 God’s forgiveness is the essence of our ability
to forgive. We cannot withhold forgiveness! Review Matthew 6:12 (part
of Jesus Model Prayer) “Forgive us our debts as we also have forgiven
our debtors.” Can we limit God’s forgiveness we experience by our
unwillingness to forgive? Colossians 3:12-13 Eternal salvation brings
responsibility and attitudes concerning forgiveness. Strive to have
compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” Forgiveness is
liberating and opens a Church member to become a unifying person.
When divisions occur in the local church the impact of the church is
weakened and its witness harmed. Unity is vital to the health of our local
Church: Montgomery Heights. God has instructed Christian church
members or should I say “demand” each of us be a unifying person.
