Little Book – Big Message – 2 Thessalonians  Wisdom of Encouragement

2 Thessalonians 1:1-12; 1 Thessalonians 3:12; Matthew 5:13-16

2 Thessalonians 1 three words stand out. Praise, Promise and Prayer.

Praise: 2 Thessalonians 1:1-4

Relationship with the Trinitarian God identified as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. All grace and peace of soul and mind comes from this eternal relationship. Relationship with a wise missionary. Recognition are three amazing truths. Faith is growing: They were becoming more confident in the Lord’s presence and ability to provide the resources they need. Love is increasing: this was an answer to a prayer by Paul recording in 1 Thessalonians 3:12 “May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else.”Christians may begin serving out of duty, but may and should discover serving is one of life’s joys. Perseverance in hardships was evident.Christians faced difficult times. They endured but mastered the circumstances.

Promise: 2 Thessalonians 1:5-10

Evidence God’s judgement is right. Christians can find themselves in correction. God does not leave His children without resources. Encouragement: Christians need not worry about those attackers. Entering the world God will deals with evil. 2 Thess 1:7-10 What: Blazing fire deals with evil and wickedness. Isaiah 66:15-16 Who: Not addressed are those who have not heard, but to those who hears and knows yet refuse to obey! How: destruction not annihilation, but complete ruin.Encouragement: Christians are covered by belief and testimony.

Pray: 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12

Pray you are counted worthy of His calling and by His power fulfill His purpose in your life.Pray continuing to be prompted by faith. Pray considering Jesus is glorified in us and we in Him! All because of the grace of God!

The words of Jesus rings loudly in 2 Thessalonians 1. Jesus said in Matthew 5:13-16 Christians are salt and light in a dark and decaying tasteless world. Satan will attack, but never defeat God’s Church! Matthew 16:18 “I (Jesus) will build my church, and the hates of Hades will not overcome it.” Brother’s/Sister’s it’s not easy but it’s certain we win! Christians be encouraged by growing your faith, allowing your love for God and others to increase. Holding to the promises presence of God and praying for God’s purposes to be done in your life.
